Stefan Köck (born August 30, 1975 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian soccer player and now a trainer and official . Since 2014 he has been the sports manager of the second division WSG Wattens .

Career

As a player

Köck began his career as a youth player at Innsbruck AC . Between 1989 and 1994 he played in the BNZ Tirol . For the 1994/95 season he moved to FC Tirol Innsbruck and played his first Bundesliga game under coach Hans Krankl in the spring of 1995 at the home game against SK Rapid Wien . By the end of the season he made nine appearances for the Tyroleans in the Bundesliga .

For the 1995/96 season he moved to the second division WSG Wattens . For the Wattener he played 26 second division games in that season, in which he scored two goals. After a season with Wattens, he moved to the 1996/97 season for league rivals VfB Mödling . He also made 26 second division appearances for the Lower Austrians. After Mödling had merged with SCN Admira / Wacker , Köck left the club and moved to Vorarlberg for the 1997/98 season to the second division SCR Altach . For Altach he completed 23 games in that season, in which he remained without a goal. At the end of the season he rose with the club from the second division.

He then returned to Bundesliga club FC Tirol Innsbruck for the 1998/99 season. With Tirol Innsbruck he was able to become champion in 2000, in the championship season 1999/2000 he made 13 Bundesliga appearances. After he had not been used until the winter break of the following season, he was awarded in January 2001 to the second division club WSG Wattens, for whom he had already played between 1995 and 1996. With Wattens, however, he had to relegate bottom of the table from the second division. After the end of the loan, he returned to Tirol Innsbruck, where he was not used again. Then he finally left the club in January 2002 and joined the second division ASKÖ Pasching . With the Upper Austrians, he rose to the Bundesliga at the end of the season. For Pasching he came to a total of six second division appearances.

After promotion he returned to Tyrol for the 2002/03 season and moved to the second division club SV Wörgl . For Wörgl he completed 33 games in the second division and scored one goal. In January 2004 he returned to the regional division SCR Altach. With Altach he was able to take part in the relegation for promotion in the 2003/04 season as champions of the Regionalliga West, in which the second division penultimate FC Lustenau 07 was defeated and thus rose.

After the promotion to the second division, Köck moved to the 2004/05 season for a third time to the now fourth-class WSG Wattens. With Wattens he rose to the end of the season in the regional league. Before he left in 2009, he had played 100 regional league games for the Wattener. Between 2009 and 2012 he played for the lower class SC Mils before ending his career after the 2011/12 season. In 2013, he was the coach of Wattens' second team again in the fifth highest division.

As a trainer and functionary

After the end of his career, Köck took over the post of head coach for the fifth-class second team of WSG Wattens for the 2012/13 season . After Robert Auer's death , Köck became WSG sports manager in March 2014. Under his leadership, Wattens rose again to the second division in 2016 .
