Stefan Koellner

Stefan Köllner (born September 11, 1984 in Potsdam ) is a German modern pentathlon .

Stefan Köllner is a sports soldier and student of sports science . He starts for the OSC Potsdam . As a junior he won the bronze medal with the team at the world championships in 2004, and in 2005 he was German junior champion. He has been successful in the men's field since 2009. At the World Championships of the year in London he was eliminated from the singles and was 13th with the team. Things went much better a year later. At the European Championships he won the gold medal with Delf Borrmann and Steffen Gebhardt in the German team, in the individual he was third behind David Svoboda (CZE) and Samuel Weale (GBR). In the relay race, he came eighth. At the World Championships in Chengdu, they were eighth in the individual, 12th in the team and 13th in the relay. In addition, Köllner became German champion in 2010. The 2011 European Championships in Medway were not as successful as the year before . He was eleventh in the individual and eighth with the German relay. The 2012 World Championships in Rome were more successful, when Köllner won the silver medal with Borrmann and Alexander Nobis behind the South Korean relay. He just missed another medal in fourth place in the individual and fifth with the team. With fourth place he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he finished 26th.
