Stefan Lupp

Stefan Lupp (born September 9, 1978 ) is a German football referee .

Lupp lives in Zossen-Waldstadt and studies business administration . Since 2002 he has been a DFB referee for MSV Zossen 07 e. V. Since 2004 he has been in charge of games in the second Bundesliga.

On September 30, 2007 in the game TSV 1860 Munich - TuS Koblenz , after consulting with his assistant referees , Lupp put Koblenz's Matej Mavrič in place of the fouling player Branimir Bajić from the field because of an alleged emergency brake . The coach of the disadvantaged team, Uwe Rapolder , praised Lupp: “He solved the difficult situation for him after such a mistake of having to whistle for 70 minutes.” Mavrič was acquitted by the DFB.

From the 2008/09 season on, Stefan Lupp has worked as a specialized assistant and no longer directs any games. Since January 2011 he has been on the list of international assistant referees (FIFA). Lupp took as an assistant to Felix Brych the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in part in Brazil.

On January 15, 2014, he was named together with Felix Brych and as an additional assistant Mark Borsch as one of 25 referee teams for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was also Brych's assistant at the 2016 European Football Championship and the 2018 World Cup .
