Stefan Politze (born June 4, 1965 in Hanover ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2008 .

Life

Politze attended IGS Linden after primary school and graduated with a general university entrance qualification . After completing his military service , he trained as a lawyer and notary assistant . He then worked as an office manager and during this time studied law at the University of Hanover . From 2003 until he moved into the state parliament in 2008, he worked for the Hanover municipal utilities , initially in receivables management, then as head of the department. Since 2005 he has also been a youth lay judge in the Chamber for Juvenile Criminal Matters of the Hanover Regional Court .

Politze is a member of Ver.di , the AWO , the SoVD , the Lower Saxony Parliamentary Association and the Youth Hostel Association . It also addresses several local organizations in Hanover- Badenstedt and - Südstadt . He is of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination, married and has five children.

Politze has been a member of the SPD since 1981 and is its treasurer in the SPD city association Hannover-Stadt. He is also the deputy chairman of the local SPD association Hannover-West. From 1986 to 2001 he was councilor of the city district of Hannover Ahlem-Badenstedt-Davenstedt and from 2001 to 2006 he was councilor of the state capital Hannover.

Stefan Politze has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2008. He won the direct mandate in the constituency of Hanover-Ricklingen . He is deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, cultural policy spokesman and member of the executive committee.
