Stefan Schwarz (born February 26, 1965 in Potsdam ) is a German journalist and writer.

life and work

His father is the major general of the Ministry for State Security (MfS) Josef Schwarz . At the age of 18, Schwarz began training at the Stasi in the Enlightenment Headquarters and studied journalism in Leipzig. He was released as an officer candidate in late March 1990. As a freelance journalist, he then worked for DAZ (Die Leipziger Other Zeitung) and taz, among others . This printed a list of former Stasi officers in the spring of 1991. Unknowingly, the newspaper unmasked its own employee and then fired him.
