society
Teelen started playing soccer at Standard Elen and joined the youth team at Racing Genk in the summer of 1991 .
Where he began his professional career in 1997, with the KRC Genk he won the Belgian championship and the Belgian club cup in his first two professional years. In the 1999/00 season he made ten appearances and at the end of the season won the Belgian Cup with Genk for the second time in his career . His second championship with KRC Genk followed in 2002 and then moved to league rivals RAA La Louvière on loan . With La Louvière he won his third trophy in the past 2002/03 season. After he only came to thirteen missions here, he returned to Genk in May 2003. They then loaned him to the Eerste-Klasse- climber Koninklijke Beringen-Heusden-Zolder for the new 2003/04 season . At Heusden-Zolder he became a top performer and after his return to Genk, he left his home country Belgium. The Dutch club FC Zwolle made him an offer, which he accepted. Here Teelen played forty games for Zwolle in the Eerste Divisie in two years. In June 2006 he returned to Belgium and signed for KFC Verbroedering Geel , where he only came on two missions due to injuries in the first half of the 2006/07 season. So that he left Geel after the winter break and switched to KVV Verbroedering Maasmechelen . From January 2007 to June 2009 Teelen then played 72 games and scored eleven goals for KVV Verbroedering Maasmechelen. For the 2009/10 season his contract with Maasmechelen was not renewed and he moved to KFC Esperanza Neerpelt, where he was under contract until June 2010. In summer 2010 Teelen returned to Genk and has been under contract with Eendracht Termien ever since. At the club from the 1st Provinciale Limburg, he played together with his two former KRC Genk club colleagues Cédric Van der Elst and Fabrizio Cammalleri. He ended his active career there in December 2013.
