Stefanie Alexandra Prenn

Stefanie Alexandra Prenn (born June 15, 1984 in Linz ) is an Austrian cellist .

Stefanie Alexandra Prenn grew up in Vienna and Linz. She received lessons from Georg Baich at the Vienna Conservatory . She then studied with Tobias Kühne at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . From 2003 to 2007 studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Maarten Mostert and Dmitri Ferschtmann followed. In 2007 she gave her public diploma concert and graduated with the Baccelaureat. She then continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Reinhard Latzko.

Prenn completed masterclasses with Sándor Végh , Siegfried Palm , Natalia Gutman, André Emilianoff, Valter Despalj, Ivan Moneghetti, Heidi Litschauer, Paul Gulda, among others . She has won several prizes in national and international cello competitions such as the Mravinskij competition in St. Petersburg, Russia and the international broadcasting competition Concertino Praga. She gave concerts in venues such as the Wiener Konzerthaus , Konzerthaus Berlin , the Philharmonie St. Petersburg and the Rudolfinum Prague. 2007 concert tours took her to the Czech Republic, Japan, Finland and the USA with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra . In collaboration with the composer Georg Nussbaumer, Prenn played several world premieres (including “parsivalsurvivaltrail”, “desert: perforation”, “Quänger'scher Quartet Cross Section”, “schlachten: szenen”) as a soloist and with the ensemble “Symphoid”. She was a scholarship holder of the Carl Michael Ziehrer Foundation and the Emanuel and Sofie Fohn Scholarship Foundation.
