Stefanie "Steffi" Melbeck (born April 16, 1977 in Hamburg ) is a former German handball player . She played on the positions backcourt right and right winger .

Career

Melbeck played from 2007 in Denmark at KIF Kolding . From summer 2010 Melbeck played again for Buxtehuder SV . After Melbeck became pregnant in December 2012, she ended her career at the age of 35. In December 2014 she made her comeback at Buxtehuder SV. After the 2014/15 season, she ended her career for the second time.

Melbeck was a member of the German national handball team and played 223 international matches , in which she scored 483 goals. She made her international debut on April 29, 1998 in a game against the Hungarian national handball team. She is a banker by profession .
