Stefanie Rohner and Christian Wolf
Stefanie Rohner (* approx. 1959) and Christian Wolf (* approx. 1954) are a Swiss game designer couple . You run the Atelier Rohner + Wolf in Basel and have now published over 100 games.
Life
Rohner worked at the theater and studied philosophy and musicology with the aim of music dramaturg .
Wolf studied philosophy, folklore and chemistry, among other things, and graduated as a national economist . He then worked in the hotel industry and in gastronomy.
Rohner and Wolf met in 1981 at a philosophy lecture at the University of Basel and became a couple. They decided to do something together professionally and wrote radio plays for Südwestfunk and tried their hand at journalism together. Rohner was responsible for organization and research, Wolf was responsible for writing.
Games
They have been running the Atelier Rohner + Wolf in Basel since 1986, which was entered in the commercial register in 1988 . In 1986 their first game Orient-Express was published by Herder Verlag , which in 1987 was released in three languages as Simplon - Orient-Express . The game Schoko-Hexe , released in 1990 by FX Schmid and from 1999 by Ravensburger , was sold around 200,000 times by 2001. The game The Secret of the Pyramid , released by Jumbo in 1990, was on the shortlist for Game of the Year 1990 and received the French Super As d'Or game award . The game Klondike , released by HABA in 1993 , was awarded the 2001 children's game of the year in its new edition .
From 1999 to 2001 Rohner was the second chairman of the game authors' guild and is now a member of the advisory board for the contract working group.
In their atelier in southern Basel they develop product strategies for book and game publishers.
