Stefano Maier (born December 4, 1992 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German soccer player who will be under contract with FC 08 Homburg from summer 2019 .

Career

Stefano Maier started playing football in the F-youth of Eintracht Frankfurt . At the age of twelve he came to Kickers Offenbach through contacts with the Offenbach team supervisor . There he played successfully from the C-youth. With the U-17 of the club he competed in the B-Jugend-Bundesliga Süd / Südwest and was the captain of the Kickers youth team. He was also allowed to compete in the U-19 for the first time when he was sixteen. However, both teams were relegated in 2009 from the respective junior national league, so that he then played Regionalliga.

In 2011 Maier switched from youth to U-23. There the central defender was a regular player and showed a convincing performance, so that on matchday 15 he was in the squad of the first team in the third division for the first time and also made his first professional appearance. With his substitution in the final minutes, the OFC defended its narrow 2-1 home win against second-placed SSV Jahn Regensburg .

In summer 2018 he left OFC after 13 years and moved to FC Viktoria Köln in the Regionalliga West. With Viktoria Köln Maier became champion of the regional league and rose to the third division. In summer 2019 Maier moved back to FC 08 Homburg in the Regionalliga Südwest.
