Stefano Palmieri

Stefano Palmieri (born September 18, 1964 in Serravalle ) was from October 2009 to April 2010 together with Francesco Mussoni the head of state ( Capitano Reggente ) of San Marino .

His political career began as a co-founder of the Movimento Biancoazzurro, which merged into the Alleanza Popolare in 2005 . He first moved in 2006 as a successor in the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . In the parliamentary elections in 2008 he again moved into parliament as a replacement for ministers of the AP. He became a member of the Finance Committee and the Consiglio dei XII and was Sindaco del Governo from 2008 to 2011. For the period from October 1, 2009 to April 1, 2010, he was elected together with Francesco Mussoni as Capitano Reggente , the head of state of San Marino.

In December 2010 he was elected as coordinator of the AP. In the parliamentary elections in 2012, Palmieri ran again for the AP, but failed to enter parliament. Before the new elections in November 2016, the AP merged with the Unione per la Repubblica (UpR) to form Repubblica Futura (RF). Palmieri won another seat in parliament in the December 2016 election. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs and Finance Committees. From December 2016 to July 2017, Palmieri was again Sindaco del Governo. For the term of office from April 1, 2018 to October 1, 2018, he and Matteo Ciacci were re-elected as Capitano Reggente.

Palmieri trained as an accountant and is a bank clerk. He is married and has two sons.
