Steffen Bogs

Steffen Bogs (born October 8, 1965 in Rostock ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic . In 1988 he won the Olympic bronze medal with the double scull.

Bogs rowed for SC Dynamo Berlin . In 1983 he was junior world champion in two without a helmsman , but later switched to sculling boats . As a batsman, he won the GDR championship in double sculls in 1988 together with Steffen Zühlke , Heiko Habermann and Jens Köppen . This boat then achieved the bronze rank behind the boats from Italy and Norway at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988. For this he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. After a third place in 1989, Bogs and Zühlke won the last GDR championship title in the double quad in 1990, now starting for SC Berlin.
