Steffen Mau
Steffen Mau (born October 31, 1968 in Rostock ) is a German sociologist and professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin .
Life
Before the fall of the Wall, Steffen Mau completed an apprenticeship as an electronics specialist at VEB Schiffselektronik Rostock ; He did not start a study of mathematics and physics delegated to him in 1988 . From 1991 to 1997 he studied sociology and political science at the Free University of Berlin . From 1998 to 2001 he did his doctorate at the European University Institute in Florence on the subject of the welfare state . This was followed by professional positions at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Bremen , where he received a junior professorship in 2003 and a professorship for political sociology in 2005. Since 2015 he has held the professorship for macrosociology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and does research a. a. on the topics of social inequality , transnationalization , European integration and migration .
