Roland Verwiebe

Roland Verwiebe (* 1971 in Berlin ) is a German sociologist and professor at the University of Potsdam .

Life

Roland Verwiebe studied social sciences from 1991 to 1997 at the Humboldt University in Berlin and Columbia University in New York. He then taught at the Humboldt University in Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 2003 . Professional positions at the University of Hamburg and in Duisburg then followed. From 2009 to 2019 Roland Verwiebe was university professor for social structure research and quantitative methods at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Vienna , and since 2019 he has been professor for social structure and social inequality at the University of Potsdam. In his research, the sociologist mainly deals with topics such as the labor market , migration and social inequality.
