Qatar Classic 2011

The Qatar Classic 2011 took place from October 16-21 , 2011 at the Aspire Academy in Doha , Qatar . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Platinum category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Gold category .

Defending champion in the men's race was Karim Darwish , who reached the semi-finals this year. Grégory Gaultier defeated James Willstrop in the final with 11: 8, 11: 7, 2:11 and 11: 8. In the women's category, Nicol David successfully defended her title from last year. In the final she defeated Madeline Perry 11: 2, 11: 7 and 11: 3.

The field of participants in the men's and women's competition consisted of 32 players each, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best men were seeded, the women the best 16 players. Per Wildcard received Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi a spot in the main draw, with the ladies no wild card was awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000 for the men and $ 60,000 for the women.
