Qatar Classic 2015

The Qatar Classic 2015 took place from October 29th to November 6th, 2015 at the Aspire Academy in Doha , Qatar . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA World Series category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2015/16 and also belonged to the PSA World Series category .

Defending champion of the last men's event in 2013 was Mohamed Elshorbagy , who defeated Nick Matthew 3-2. Elshorbagy won the final again this year. With 3: 1 he prevailed against Grégory Gaultier . At the last women's event in 2011 , Nicol David won the final in three sets against Madeline Perry, who has since retired . In the latest edition, Laura Massaro defeated Nour El Sherbini in five sets in the final .

The fields of participants in the men's and women's competitions each consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi a spot in the main draw of the men, the women's no wild card was awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000 for the men and $ 115,000 for the women.
