Qatar Classic 2016

The Qatar Classic 2016 took place from November 13-18 , 2016 at the Aspire Academy in Doha , Qatar . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2016/17 and belonged to the PSA World Series category .

Last year's winner was world number leader Mohamed Elshorbagy , who just missed defending his title. He reached the final again, but lost there to the reigning world champion Karim Abdel Gawad in three sets.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000.
