Gaby Huber (* 7. August 1980 in Zurich as Gabi Schmohl ) is a Swiss squash player . She is eight-time Swiss champion and the best-placed Swiss squash player internationally.

Life

Gaby Huber was born in Zurich and grew up in Langnau am Albis . She is a biologist and has been playing squash since she was eight and has been practicing the sport professionally since the beginning of 2010. In 2010 she moved to Sachseln and married the engine driver Hermann Huber in April 2011.

Huber plays for the Squash Racket Club Winterthur and trains in Kriens . In autumn 2012 she had to take a break due to a chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon .

Career

Huber was Swiss champion in 2007, from 2009 to 2014 and 2017 . She reached her highest world number 29 in January 2012, making her the best-ranked Swiss squash player to date. She was an integral part of the Swiss national team and took part in several world championships with her , including 1998 , 2004 , 2008 and 2018 .

In the years 2011 to 2013 she was French team champion with Mulhouse and German team champion with the squash Insel Taufkirchen . In 2007, 2008 and 2012 she became Swiss Interclub Champion with the Squash Racket Club Winterthur .
