Steffen Størseth

Steffen Skår Størseth (born April 26, 1975 in Stavanger ) is a former Norwegian rower who won an Olympic silver medal in 1996.

The 1.87 m wide Størseth from Stavanger Roklub won at the Junior World Championships bronze medal in the 1993 quadruple sculls . In 1994 he finished fifth at the U23 World Championships . In 1995 Steffen Størseth formed a double scull with his club mate Kjetil Undset , with which they won the bronze medal behind the boats from Denmark and Germany at the world championships . The following year, the Italians Davide Tizzano and Agostino Abbagnale won the 1996 Olympic Games ahead of Størseth and Undset. The two Norwegians also received the silver medal at the 1997 and 1998 World Championships , with the Germans Andreas Hajek and Stephan Volkert winning in both years . In 1999 Størseth and Undset switched to the four-man without a helmsman , with which they took second place in two regattas in the Rowing World Cup . At the 1999 World Championships , the Norwegian four-man crossed the finish line as the fifth boat. At Størseth's second Olympic start in Sydney in 2000 , the Norwegian foursome reached ninth place.
