Steffen Wiesinger (born November 27, 1969 in Lauda ) is a former German saber fencer of FC Tauberbischofsheim . He took part in the Olympic Games for Germany in 1992 and 1996 and is a two-time German champion.
Life
Wiesinger began his fencing career at the age of 11. While he was training with the saber at the Tauberbischofsheim Olympic Training Center under Jacek Osyczka and Bernd Lang , he received his school education at the Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium Tauberbischofsheim , which he graduated from high school in 1989. In the same year he celebrated his first international fencing success with team silver at the Junior World Championships in Athens.
After graduating from high school, Wiesinger completed a degree in business administration at the University of Würzburg and has been working as a tax consultant since 1996. In the Association of Friends of Matthias Grünewald High School , he also holds the position of treasurer since of 2007.
Wiesinger has been married to the former saber fencer Susanne König since 2002 .
