Steffi Buchli

Steffi Buchli (born September 19, 1978 ) is a Swiss sports reporter .

Life

Buchli grew up in Dübendorf . After graduating from high school and completing basic commercial training at a major bank, she switched to the media industry. As an editor at Radio Zürisee , she gained her first experience and also laid the theoretical basis for the new professional world. The move to Radio 24 followed, and in 2003 the move to SF DRS, now Swiss radio and television . Buchli has worked there since then as an editor and from 2006 also as a moderator. She performed the programs Sport aktuell , sportlive and sportlounge . The latter was discontinued in 2017. In 2010 she married the sports journalist Florian Kohler , CEO of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation , and lives with her children and her husband on Lake Zurich . The main sport of Buchli at SRF was ice hockey . At world championships and in the national playoffs , she was regularly used as a host in the studio or as an external reporter. Buchli played floorball himself and was twice Swiss champion with the Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur . She was the presenter of the Sports Awards on SRF 1 for several years . As a presenter, she interviewed greats such as tennis star Roger Federer , NBA basketball player Thabo Sefolosha and Germany's football legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge for various broadcasters . In December 2010, Buchli hosted the tennis exhibition “Match for Africa” in the Zurich Hallenstadion together with Rainer Maria Salzgeber . Steffi Buchli left SRF 2017 and since then has been program director and presenter at Hockey private Swiss sports channel MySports of UPC Switzerland . In May 2020 it was announced that Steffi Buchli will be moving to the Blick Group on January 1, 2021 , where she will become Editor-in-Chief Sport.

  • “Sports journalist of the year 2016” in the online survey of 1,400 Swiss journalists by the industry magazine Schweizer Journalist .
