The Walk of Wishes is a viewing platform on the Leuchtenburg in Seitenroda and is part of the exhibition concept of the Porzellanwelten Leuchtenburg . Porcelain plates written by him with a wish can be shattered on the castle hill, according to the proverb shards bring luck .

description

The Footbridge of Wishes was erected in a two-year construction period under the supervision of Sven-Erik Hitzer as the director of the Leuchtenburg Foundation and opened on March 20, 2015 together with the exhibition concept for the Porcelain Worlds. The steel and glass construction of the footbridge was designed by the Hermsdorf engineering office BCH GmbH together with the architect Silke Loose

The Skywalk rises 20 meters over the mountainside of the Leuchtenburg and grows out of the medieval castle wall as a modern accent . At the front there is a glass plate and with a view of Jena it seems to float over the landscape 400 meters above sea level. The supporting structure of steel consists of a trough bridge construction with mikado like bundled tension and compression struts. These are attached to a reinforced concrete flat foundation directly on the slope edge of the castle hill and additionally secured by micro-bored piles in the shell limestone .

The side of the supporting structure is clad with fiber cement panels and provided with perforated metal grids on the walking floor and glass on the foremost overhang . The footbridge and large parts of the castle complex are barrier-free .

In the exhibition Porcelain Worlds, visitors can deal with porcelain in an unusual way . True to the motto: Shards bring luck , you can throw down the porcelain skywalk, on which you have previously written your wishes. The personal wish is finally kept in the archive of wishes .

The footbridge of wishes was used in 2016 as the location for the television film The outgoing Schupo from the crime series Tatort .
