It is about 100 kilometers southwest of Lincoln , the capital of Nebraska.

history

St. Anthony Church

Steinauer was founded in 1856 by the three brothers Joseph Alois, Anton and Nikolaus Steinauer from Einsiedeln, Switzerland. With the construction of the railway in 1886, an upswing began in Steinauer, which continued until 1910. At that time, 248 people lived in the village, there was a bank and a post office, various shops and service providers served to supply the surrounding farms.
