The Steinbachtalbrücke is a 372 m long bridge on the BAB 38 .

The structure is located north of Bodenrode-Westhausen between the Heilbad Heiligenstadt and Leinefelde-Worbis motorway junctions . It spans the Steinbach valley with six bridges at a maximum height of 30 m with a water protection area and a communal connection path from Bodenrode-Westhausen to Steinbach . The overpass with a joint superstructure for both carriageways was built between 1999 and 2002.

superstructure

The one-piece superstructure of the composite steel bridge has a single-cell open steel trough and a 28.5 m wide reinforced concrete deck connected with headed dowels . In addition to the webs of the main girders, the deck is supported on the outside by inclined struts. The construction height of the entire superstructure is a constant 4.65 m. The span of the 6-field superstructure is 54.0 m + 2 × 66.0 m + 78.0 m + 60.0 m + 78.0 m.

execution

The steel superstructure consisted of 18 to 22 meter long sections, which were delivered in three individual parts by truck. The final welding took place on an abutment. For installation, the steel trough was pushed in using the incremental launching method . Finally, the reinforced concrete deck slab was produced in sections with a formwork carriage .
