Bodenrode-Westhausen is a municipality in the Thuringian district of Eichsfeld and the seat of the Leinetal administrative community . The place has a stop on the Halle – Hann railway line. Münden .

Geographical location

Bodenrode-Westhausen is a good five kilometers east of Heilbad Heiligenstadt in the Leinetal . In the south, the mountain range of Dün borders the municipality.

history

Bodenrode was first mentioned in 1305 and Westhausen in 1146. From 1816 both places belonged to the Erfurt administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony .

On January 2, 1992, the Leinetal administrative community was founded, at that time consisting of the still independent member communities Bodenrode and Westhausen, which merged on November 6, 1993.
