Location and sights

The Ibbenbürener Bergplatte with the Dickenberg lies south of Steinbeck . The Mittelland Canal divides the town center into a southern and a northern part. The Tecklenburger Nordbahn runs through Steinbeck. The Buchholzer Forest lies south of the village. In the forest area with the Steinbecker Stollen mining relict , a mining educational trail was laid out, which allows an insight into the working world of the miner. There is also the Buchholz winding tower , a 14-meter-high observation tower built in 2004 .

Not far from the center of Bad Steinbeck is the Steinbeck Sulfur Bath, the only state-approved mineral spring in the Münsterland. The healing spring, discovered in 1823, attracts patients far beyond the region and offers support in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, osteoarthritis , intervertebral disc diseases and skin diseases .

One of the sights of the village is the listed church of St. Philip and Jacob .

A specialty in Steinbeck are the numerous works by the artist Joseph Krautwald , which are not only in the church and in the cemetery, but also on private property.
