Steinfeld is a district of the municipality Broderstorf in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).
geography
Steinfeld is about ten kilometers east of Rostock . With the exception of the district of Öftenhäven, Steinfeld is located with the districts of Fienstorf and Rothbeck on the upper Carbäk , a stream that rises in the eastern landscape protection area and flows into the lower Warnow near the Vorpommernbrücke .
history
Steinfeld was first mentioned in a document on May 13, 1334.
On August 8, 2012, the local council passed the membership contract for the municipality of Broderstorf with a narrow majority. This was signed by both mayors on August 9, 2012. On January 1, 2013 Steinfeld became a district of Broderstorf. This act was rejected by parts of the population. A referendum was prevented by the mayor and community representative of the “Steinfelder Kreis” and the “Steinfeld List”.
