Steinhausen (Korschenbroich)

Steinhausen is a district of the city of Korschenbroich in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhine district of Neuss .

history

Steinhausen is mentioned for the first time in 1166 in Hildegund von Meer's certificate of division as Steinsale (allodium steinsale), this name was used until 1532. There was a castle in Steinhausen. It was originally a castle and knight fief from Liedberg with 67.5 acres of land. Steinhausen belonged to the community of Liedberg , which was completely incorporated into Korschenbroich on January 1, 1975.

Steinhausen Castle

A castle at this point was first mentioned in 1382 and 1392. The name Steinhausen Castle dates back to 1460. After that the castle was called Looshof, in 1800 this courtyard was demolished. The castle was abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century and completely demolished between 1866 and 1896. The 60 by 80 meter large, undeveloped area is now designated as a ground monument of the city of Korschenbroich.

Liedberg and Steinhausen are separated by the B230 federal road leading from Mönchengladbach to Neuss . The next motorway junction is Grevenbroich-Kapellen on the A 46 .
