The Steinige Bach is an almost two kilometer long left tributary of the Sauer in the southern Palatinate .

The stony brook rises at an altitude of 359 m above sea level. NN in the western Wasgau on the southern slope of the Hohe Kopf , directly at the Reitersprung and southwest of the Zigeunerfels . It initially flows about 250 m in a south-westerly direction, then disappears underground and reappears on the surface after about 200 m. Shortly afterwards it is fed by a small inlet on its right side. His path now leads south-southwest along the western slope of the Great Bliesenberg , accompanied by an elevated road. The brook dips a second time below the surface of the earth and finally flows southeast of the Welschkornberg at an altitude of 252 m above sea level.
