The stone box Dvärgahuset ( Swedish Hällkistan Dvärgahuset - German  "stone box dwarf house" ) in Lindome is located directly on Norra Hällesåkersvägen in Mölndal , in Halland in Sweden . In Mölndal the remains of ten more than 3500 years old stone boxes have been preserved.

The best known is the megalithic stone box Dvärgahuset. It is relatively short, because parts of it (probably the antenna-like porch) fell victim to the bridge construction. In addition to the lateral supporting stones, three cap stones and both end plates have been preserved. Stone boxes of this type are from the end of the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (1800–1500 BC) and are thus the oldest stone boxes in Sweden made from large stone blocks. As is often the case in this region (e.g. stone box from Skogsbo ), its access consists of a round hole ( Swedish gavelhål - ( German  "Giebelloch" ); archaeological soul hole ).

Dvärgahuset was first restored in 1889 in connection with an excavation by Oscar Montelius . Flint daggers , amber beads , arrowheads , slate pendants and sickles are often found in such facilities , but Dvärgahuset had been ravaged by predatory graves.

There are many legends about Dvärgahuset. It used to be believed that dwarfs built it as a house and the soul hole was the entrance.
