The stone circle of Gors Fawr lies on a flat boggy plateau, whose name means ( German  "large wasteland" ). The area at Mynachlog-ddu in Dyfed near the Preseli Mountains in Wales is an area rich in cairns , megalithic structures and menhirs .

The stone circle ( Welsh gorsedd ) of about 22.0 m in diameter consists of 16 small preserved stones, the heights of which increase towards the south, but no stone is more than a meter high. The circle dates from the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age . The location near the Preseli Mountains, the place where the bluestones of Stonehenge come from, and the Meini Gwyr stone circle about 3 kilometers away make it plausible that this was once an essential place for the community. Despite the proximity of this source, only one of these stones was used in making the circle, while the rest is made up of local glacial erratic boulders .

The pair of menhirs Mynachlog-ddu Stones are about 130 meters to the northeast . The two stones are almost 2.0 meters high and about 14.0 meters apart. One is popularly called the Dreaming Stone ( German  "the great dreaming stone" ).
