Stelio Passacantando

Stelio Passacantando (born 1927 in Rome , † January 13, 2010 in Nemi ) was an Italian cartoonist and film director .

Passacantando graduated from the Accademia Belle Arti in the Italian capital. After starting out in painting, he switched to animated and experimental film. In Great Britain he worked for a few years on the National Film Board with George Dunning and, from 1963, staged television cartoon sketches in Milan, later also drew for ZDF and collaborated with the “Studio Gianini-Luzzati”. He directed many short cartoons for the RAI , and in the 1980s put those based on the music of Tchaikovsky resp. Stravinsky incurred La storia dello schiaccianoci , L'uccello di fuoco and Petrushka before and was presented in accordance with a work by Pablo Neruda realized Il generale all'inferno responsible in 1984, a held in black and white paintings hell of war.
