Stella is a place in the South African province of Northwest (North West). It is located in the Naledi parish in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district .
geography
Stella has 890 inhabitants (2011 census). To the west of the village is the Rekgaritlhile township settlement with a population of 3,801. The environment is flat.
history
The place was named after the daughter of a farm owner. The salt lake immediately southwest of the village was used to extract table salt .
Economy and Transport
The place is agriculturally oriented. Above all, livestock is practiced; Every October the Stella Beesfees ( Afrikaans for "Stella-Rinderfest") takes place.
The national road N18 , which among other things connects Vryburg in the southwest with Mahikeng in the northeast, runs through Stella. The R377 runs roughly at right angles to it and reaches, among other things, Delareyville in the east.
