Sten Hanson

Sten Hanson (born April 15, 1936 in Skålan , Klövsjö ; † November 1, 2013 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish musician , sound poet and performance artist .

life and work

Sten Hanson had been a member of the Swedish Fylkingen group since 1968 , which also includes Bengt Emil Johnson , Lars Gunnar Bodin , Åke Hodell and Ilmar Laaban , which became known for "text-sound compositions", a form of sound poetry . From 1975 to 1981 Hanson was a member of ISCM , a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music , from 1985 to 1994 Chairman of the Swedish Composers' Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (ICEM) .

Since the early 1960s, Sten Hanson has worked as an electroacoustic musician , performance artist and sound poet for radio and television, but also for festivals and concerts. He is one of the pioneers of multimedia art .
