Stendorf (Hünfeld)

The hamlet Stendorf belongs to the Hessian community Hünfeld in the district of Fulda .

geography

The place is about three kilometers northeast of Kirchhasel . The Appelsberg rises in the north and the Stallberg in the east . The Röderbach rises on the northern edge of the village . The state border with Thuringia runs five kilometers to the east .

The settlement, which consists of a few courtyards, is grouped around the slightly winding street Im Winkel .

history

In 1494 the place was first mentioned in the files of the Fulda monastery as "Steingesdorf". The Fulda Collegiate Foundation and the Lords of Buchenau were also well off there .

Until 1802 Stendorf belonged to the Oberamt Haselstein of the Fulda monastery, which was secularized in 1803 .

In 1843 Stendorf was incorporated into Kirchhasel. In terms of church, too, Stendorf belongs to Kirchhasel.

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Kirchhasel with Stendorf was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld.
