Stephan-Andreas Casdorff (* 28. March 1959 in Cologne ) is a German journalist and publisher in Berlin appearing daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel .

Career

Stephan-Andreas Casdorff is the son of the journalist Claus Hinrich Casdorff (1925–2004) and his wife Ursel nee. Ten Pfenning (1928-2018). After graduating from high school and doing military service in 1979, he did an internship at the Express and Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . From 1981 he worked in the political department of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, before moving four years later to the parliamentary editorial office of the Kölnische Rundschau . From 1987 in the parliamentary office of the Süddeutsche Zeitung , in 1992 he took over the deputy editor-in-chief of the Kölnische Rundschau . In 1995 he became head of the parliamentary editorial office of the Stuttgarter Zeitung and has been working for the Berlin daily Der Tagesspiegel since 1999 . From 2004 to 2018 he was editor-in-chief there with Lorenz Maroldt . In 2014 both were named Journalists of the Year in the “Regional Editor-in-Chief” category. He has been one of the editors of the paper since 2018 .

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Johanna Quandt Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Evangelical Academy in Berlin .
