Lorenz Maroldt (* 22. March 1962 in Cologne ) is a German journalist and editor in Berlin appearing daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel .

Life

Maroldt studied political science in Berlin, graduating in 1989. He then worked as a freelance writer for newspapers and television magazines. From 1991 he worked for the national daily newspaper Neue Zeit as an editor for state politics, later as a correspondent in Bonn .

In 1994 Maroldt switched to the daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel . There he was initially responsible for the politics department, later for reports and Berlin. From 2004 to 2018 he was editor-in-chief together with Stephan-Andreas Casdorff . Maroldt has held this position alongside Mathias Müller von Blumencron since 2018 .

He received special attention and several awards for the “ Tagesspiegel Checkpoint ” newsletter . Maroldt has been writing this daily email newsletter about current events in Berlin since the end of 2014.
