Stephan Doering

Stephan Doering (* 1966 in Rotterdam ) is a German psychoanalyst , doctor , university professor and, since January 1, 2011, director of the University Clinic for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy at the General Hospital in Vienna .

Life

Doering completed his medical studies in Göttingen, Berlin and Jerusalem and graduated from the University of Göttingen in 1994 . He completed his specialist training at the University of Innsbruck , where he qualified as a professor in 2002 in the subjects of psychotherapy , psychosomatics and medical psychology . Doering is a specialist in psychiatry and neurology and a specialist in psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy . From 2004 to 2010 he worked as a professor for psychosomatics in dentistry at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . He completed several research stays at the Personality Disorders Institute at Cornell University , New York.

Doering acts as Vice President of the Society for Research and Therapy of Personality Disorders (GePs) and as spokesman for the working group on personality disorders in the German College for Psychosomatic Medicine (DKPM). He has received several research awards and is the editor of professional journals. In addition to numerous scientific publications, he has also edited books on mental disorders in feature films .
