Stephan Hoffmann (judge)

Stephan Hoffmann (born August 1, 1845 in Bautzen , † July 3, 1924 in Leipzig ) was a German judge.

Life

Stephan Hoffmann studied law at the University of Leipzig and became a member, later honorary member, of the Corps Budissa in 1864 . Born in Saxony, Hoffmann was sworn in at the beginning of January 1869. He was appointed judge (1878), magistrate (1879) and district judge (1880). He became chief judge in Oschatz in 1883. Since 1886 director of a regional court, in 1889 he was appointed chief judge at the Dresden Higher Regional Court . In October 1895 he was appointed to the Imperial Court. In February 1910 he became President of the VI. Civil Senate . He retired in April 1914. In the same year he was awarded the Royal Crown Order (Prussia) II class. From 1890 to 1905 he was co-editor of the Saxon Archives for Civil Law and Trial .
