Stephan Klapproth

Stephan Klapproth (born August 8, 1958 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss television presenter .

education

Stephan folding Roth studied at the University of Geneva only political science , economics and contemporary history and supplemental law. In 1981 he obtained a master's degree ( M.A. ) in political science.

Journalist and presenter

During his studies, Klapproth wrote as a freelancer for newspapers such as the Luzerner Tagblatt and the magazine Musik & Theater .

Klapproth was an editor at Radio Genève Information from 1983 to 1984 and at Swiss Radio International in Bern from 1984 to 1986 . Afterwards and before he went to television, he worked as a moderator and editor-in-chief of the radio show Echo der Zeit , a political magazine of the Swiss radio station DRS .

Since 1993 he has moderated Swiss television . Alternating with the presenters Christine Maier (until October 2013), Andrea Vetsch (since May 2014) and Daniela Lager , he presented the news program 10vor10 until 2015 .

Klapproth also moderated Reporter Spezial . From 2002 to 2004 Klapproth was also the presenter of the entertainment program Quiz today , a quiz about current political events, which did not achieve the desired audience success and was therefore discontinued.

From January 2015 to August 2016 Klapproth was part of the moderation team of Sternstunde Philosophie . He had already hosted a season of this show in 2002. In the summer of 2016, Klapproth announced that in future he would only be seen on the screen as a moderator of special political programs. In the future he wants to devote himself more to his own projects, including his duties as a journalism lecturer at various Swiss universities. From 2019 he will be one of the guest commentators for NZZ am Sonntag .

Lecturer

At the University of Freiburg he is a lecturer at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Studies. He also lectures on television and radio journalism at the Académie du journalisme et des médias (AJM) of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Neuchâtel .

Social and political engagement

Stephan Klapproth supports the aid organization Goutte d'Eau ; In 2005 he donated CHF 20,000 for this from the Swiss TV Award .

Private life

Stephan Klapproth has two sisters and two brothers. On August 8, 2008, he married his long-time girlfriend.

Awards

In 2005, Klapproth received the Swiss TV Award as the most popular news presenter in Switzerland.
