Stephan Merseburger

Stephan Merseburger (* 1964 in Brussels ) is a German news anchor, television presenter and television journalist. His father is the journalist Peter Merseburger .

Life

Merseburger moved with his parents to Hamburg during his childhood . There he passed his Abitur at the Gymsen High School , then studied political science in Hamburg, Paris and Berlin and graduated with a diploma.

In October 1988 he became an employee of the ZDF Landesstudio Berlin, where his areas of responsibility included current and cultural topics, as well as articles for the 3sat magazine Inter-City . From April 1992 on he was editor and reporter for the ZDF morning magazine , before moving to the culture department of the ZDF morning magazine in April 1994 . There he regularly presented the film tip and reported on the film festivals in Berlin , Venice and Cannes . Before he worked from October 1998 to February 2003 as an editor in the ZDF main editorial office “Foreign Policy”, he moderated the early edition of the ZDF morning magazine from 1997 to 1998 .

From March 2003 he was a correspondent at the ZDF studio in Paris and from September 2011 to December 2017 he was the director of the ZDF studio in Vienna . Since January 1st, 2018 he has been running the ZDF regional studio in Berlin.

Merseburger is married and has a son and a daughter.
