Stephan Porombka (* 1967 in Salzgitter ) is an author and professor for text theory and text design at the UdK Berlin .

Life

Porombka studied German , political science and theater studies (among others with Erhard Schütz , Hans-Jürgen Schings and Klaus Laermann ) at the Free University of Berlin . In 1999 he received his doctorate with a thesis on hypertext . He received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . After working as a research assistant in the derealization and digitization project at the Free University of Berlin and as a research assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin , he was transferred to the junior professorship for literary studies and cultural journalism at the University of Hildesheim in 2003, which was transferred to a university professorship for literature and cultural journalism in 2007 . Together with the writer Hanns-Josef Ortheil , he directed the course “ Creative Writing and Cultural Journalism ”. From 2007 to 2011 Porombka was Vice President of the University of Hildesheim, first for teaching, then for research. Since 2013 he has been Professor of Text Theory and Text Design at the UdK Berlin . His main research interests are literature and journalism , non-fiction research, applied literary studies , literary creativity and the next writing and writing cultures. He has been a columnist for the weekly newspaper Die ZEIT since January 2015 .
