Stephanie von Milly († around 1197 ) was mistress of Oultrejordain and an influential woman in the Kingdom of Jerusalem .

She was the daughter of Philip of Milly , 1142–1161 Lord of Nablus , 1161–1168 Lord of Oultrejordain, 1169–1171 Grand Master of the Templar Order, and his wife Isabella.

Her first husband became Humfried III in 1163 . of Toron , who died in 1173. From this marriage she had a son, Humfried IV of Toron , and a daughter Isabella of Toron , who was the prince Ruben III. of Armenia married.

Her second husband was Miles von Plancy , who was murdered in 1174.

In 1176 she married Rainald von Chatillon , formerly Prince of Antioch, who had recently been released from captivity in Aleppo .

In 1183 their son Humfried married Isabella of Jerusalem in Kerak , while Saladin Castle was besieged. Stephanie sent ambassadors to Saladin, reminding him of the friendship that had developed when he had been a prisoner in Kerak many years earlier. Saladin did not lift the siege, but agreed not to attack the tower where Humfried and Isabella's wedding was celebrated. The siege was lifted shortly afterwards by King Baldwin IV , Isabella's brother.

Through Stephanie Rainald von Chatillon got the rule of Oultrejordain into his hands. He used his new position to harass Muslim caravans and pilgrims , and even threatened to attack Mecca once . This led to Saladin's invasion of the kingdom in 1187. Rainald was killed in the Battle of Hattin , Humfried IV later captured. Saladin released Humfried in exchange for Kerak and Montreal , but they refused to submit; Stephanie dutifully sent her son back to Saladin, but Saladin released him. Kerak and Montreal finally fell to Saladin after a long siege and were finally lost to the Christians.

Her son Humfried died before her in 1192, so her daughter Isabella was her sole heir. Isabella's daughter, Alice of Armenia , was able to repossess Toron after it was reclaimed by the Ayyubids in 1229 .
