The Stephanotis ( Greek "wreath" or "crown ear") are a genus in the subfamily of the silk plants (Asclepiadoideae) within the family of the dog poison plants (Apocynaceae). The best- known representative is the wreath loop ( Stephanotis floribunda ), a houseplant .
The genus includes about 4–16 species, some of which are native to mountainous regions of Madagascar , others in the Malay Archipelago .

The Stephanotis species are evergreen lianas . The leathery leaves are opposite. The axillary flowers form on simple or two-column cusps.
Systematics and taxonomy
The genus Stephanotis was described by Thouars in his work Gen. Nov. Madagasc .: 11 (1806) first described. There are only about four types left. Further species are now assigned to the genera Marsdenia and Jasminanthes .

- Stephanotis grandiflora Decne. : It occurs in Madagascar.
- Stephanotis thouarsii Brongn. : It occurs in Madagascar.
