Stephen Craig

Stephen Craig (* 1960 in Larne , Northern Ireland ) is an Irish artist.

Life

Craig studied at the College of Arts at the University of Sydney from 1981 and at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts from 1985 , where he worked as an assistant to Olaf Metzel from 1986 . From 1990 to 1992 he completed a master's degree at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam .

Since 2001 he has been Professor of Visual Arts at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he also heads the Fine Arts department of the Faculty of Architecture.

Awards

Craig received grants from the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (1990) and the Hamburg work grant for fine arts (1993). In 1999 he received the Overbeck Prize for Fine Arts . In addition, he was awarded the special prize of the German Urban Development Prize in 2006 and the European Urban and Regional Planning Award in 2008.
