J. Stephen Peace , also Steve Peace (born March 30, 1953 in San Diego , California ) is an American politician , actor , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Peace attended Bonita Vista High School in Chula Vista , then studied political science at the University of California at San Diego. In 1973 he married his classmate Cheryl. After finishing his studies he worked on the B-movie attack of the killer tomatoes . He composed several titles for the soundtrack , played one of the leading roles and was one of the producers and screenwriters. The parody of the science fiction and horror genre received scathing reviews, but over the years it developed into a cult film , which was followed by several sequels and an animated series . Peace was involved in these sequels in various functions.

In 1982 he was elected to the California State Assembly as a representative of the Democratic Party , and in 1993 he moved to the California Senate . During this time he was involved, among other things, in the restructuring of the state electricity system, which was later critically referred to by the press as Steve Peace death march and was brought into connection with the energy crisis in California between 2000 and 2001. Due to the term limitation, he left the Senate in 2002 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer of California by then California Governor Gray Davis . In 2008 he joined the Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck law firm .

Peace has been married since 1973 and has three children.
