Stephen Seymour

Stephen A. Seymour (born December 15, 1919 in New York , † June 20, 1973 in Ventura , California ) was an American production designer for films.

Life

Stephen Seymour worked as a production designer in Hollywood from 1941 to 1945 , where he was employed by Paramount Pictures . At the Oscar ceremony in 1942 he was with Du Bois Raoul Pene in the category Best Art Direction (Color film) for Louisiana Purchase nominated, but lost Cedric Gibbons , Urie McCleary and Edwin B. Willis , the Oscar for Blossoms in the Dust ( Dust Blossoms in the ) could ultimately win. Other films whose scenes co Seymour were, the war film Courageous Women ( So Proudly We Hail! , 1943), the horror film The eerie guest ( The Uninvited , 1944) and Leo McCareys blockbuster Going My Way ( Going My Way , 1944) with Bing Crosby in the lead role. In 1945 Seymour withdrew from the film business. He died in Ventura , California in 1973 at the age of 53 .
