Stephen Sherbourne, Baron Sherbourne of Didsbury , Kt. , CBE , (born October 15, 1945 in Manchester ) is a British Conservative politician.

He studied philosophy, politics and economics (English abbreviation: PPE) at Oxford University .

Sherbourne was a Political Secretary of State for Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Chief of Staff to Conservative Party Leader Michael Howard . He is now the non-executive director at Smithfields Consultants.

He is known for his commitment to a democracy shaped by liberalism and an equally liberal economic policy.

He was beaten to a Knight Bachelor in 2006 after he had previously been named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). He was raised to Life Peer on September 12, 2013 as Baron Sherbourne of Didsbury , of Didsbury in the City of Manchester, and has been a member of the House of Lords ever since .
