Stevan Gaber

Stevan Gaber ( Macedonian Стеван Габер ; born September 22, 1919 in Veles , † August 6, 1999 in Skopje ) was a Yugoslav legal philosopher .

Life

Stevan Gaber joined the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia in 1944 . From 1949 to 1951 he studied social sciences at the University of Belgrade , in 1958 he received his doctorate at the law faculty of this university with a thesis on direct democracy . He initially worked as a lecturer at the University of Skopje and completed postgraduate studies at several Yugoslav universities as well as in Poznań and Grenoble .

He taught as a professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Skopje, was dean of this faculty from 1965 to 1967 and rector of the university from 1972 to 1974. From 1979 to 1983 he was the first rector of the newly founded University of Bitola .
