Initially, Pavlina was the founder and CEO of Dexterity Software , where he worked as a programmer . At this point, Steve's articles had already become a big part of the software development community. The Hall of Fame describes him as someone with a great and lasting impact on others through his articles and contributions.

In 2004 Steve Pavlina started a blog on personal development. His work at Dexterity Software began to pause until Steve closed the company on October 31, 2006 to focus full-time on his website. On October 15, 2008, his first book Personal Development for Smart People: The Conscious Pursuit of Personal Growth was published (German: The universal principle of self-development: Personality development for intelligent people ).

Pavlina's blog covers topics such as personality development and success, awareness and courage, productivity, motivation and goal setting, career, wealth and business and spirituality. Some of his most popular articles deal with lifestyle, habits and experiments with them, and he reports on their experiences in detail in a diary. Examples include raw veganism and polyamory . In this regard, polyphasic sleep is his most famous experiment; also in connection with an article about getting up early, which was also picked up in the British newspaper The Guardian .

In 2006, a forum was added to his blog to provide a platform for the large volumes of comments on his articles.

In December 2010, Pavlina decided to give up the copyright to his works (with the exception of his book) in order to encourage further circulation. In the course of this, his articles are also translated into other languages by volunteers.

Personal

In October 2009, Steve announced his separation and planned divorce from his wife Erin Pavlina. According to his own statement, Polyamory was one of the motivations for this step after more than 15 years of marriage.
